hello welcome to the web page of 4096
this web page is createds for irq 2 which
is occuring today on may 28 2003

oh yes notice i'm not mbothering to fix
my spelling mistakes if u dont like then
f&(& off :(

a little bit of rocketmen stuff here, test renders and
whatnot from all three episodes. (the third
episoede being currently fimled by me and
thus very top secret

here's a couple of test renders I did when I was
starting the planet fight scene in episode 1

I needed a way to quickly replicate a lot of running
rocketmen, and so instanced geometry particles
was the way to go.

Standard Rations - the only governmentally approved
food for rocketmen. Perhaps in a future rocketmen
episode I'll make a soylent green reference using
Standard Rations

Oops!

A deleted scene, originally part of Captain Lester's
dream sequence while he is lying in the hospital
bed. He was supposed to wake up, jump to the window
and look outside and see this except I deleted those
shots because I couldnt figure out any way for him
to open the vertical blinds and have it look good.

oh yes, also because the city looks GHEY too

You CANNOT model a good looking city in 2 hours

The subtle red flashes of light in the hospital sequence
are leftovers from this deleted scene

one of the few times I actually sketched out on paper
before I built something in 3D

sketching shit out beforehand is ok if you are into that shit
or if you are george lucas or whatever, but it kinda sucks
because it's a waste of time unless you dont have anything to
do or whatever. Like if you had some beer and nothing to
do you could sit down and draw a bunch of shit but there's more
to making a movie thatn just drawing a bunch of stupid little
pictures. So I guess, kind of, in a way it's important but
it's also a load of bullshit.

sxy

the two cylindrical wireframe thingys
are what you use to move and aim the machineguns
in 3d max: one for the turret L<>R and one for
the guns UP<>DN

top view of camera angles used in the gelcube fight

You wouldnt beleive the number of ^*(&% times MAX crashed
while rendering this scene >:F

Which was kinda good because that got me into rendering
frames to JPEG files which means u can do a lot more stuff
in compositing. (actually TGA files are the best BC they
have alpha channel... or RLA with depth and surface normals)
blah blha blhah....

cameras used in the command ufo scene
'contact' sheets like this are useful once the
set has been modeled and the animation is fairly
straightforward.

civilians making a cameo in episode 2 ^^^ the one in purple is also the
                                                                   nurse in episode 1
getting their asses kicked by the cyborgs

Dr monacle would have loved to see his cyborgs
trashing the rocketmen homeworld, perhaps
he'll still get his chance?...

some of the civilians make an appearance in episode 3
as well. They did such a good job in the 4 second
clip that they appeared in episode 2, that I HAD
to cast them in episode 3

Mmm beer. But what is that strange gun he is holding?
