Katie's Last Party
Kristine and Jon are chilling on the sofa in their apartment. They glance around at a table, containing many empty beer and liquor bottles, Chinese take-out boxes, paper plates, and silverware. A cd player plays music turned down very softly; The room is lit up brightly. The Front Door rings, Jonathan and Krissy go to answer the door.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Jon announced.
"There is some chinese food here if you want it..." Kristine offered.
"Not much man, what's up?...I got a couple pills." Matt said.
"Sure, I'll take some Chinese food." Katie asked.
Kristine gets Katie a fork and a paper plate, dishes out some onto her plate and gets her a beer. Katie eats part of a Chinese food box and drinks a Beer.
Katie goes to the bathroom with her purse. The light is bright in the room. She touchs up her makeup. Jon and Matt follow, Matthew pulls out a small plastic baggie with two capsules filled with off-white powder, pours half of it out on a mirror and cuts it up in half. "So, Katie, how about it? Want to do a line with us?" Matt pressured. Katie shouts "No way, don't you guys know Ecstacy puts holes in your brain! You won't be able to carry on a conversation if you keep doing that stuff." Matt and Jon take turns snorting half a pill with a rolled up dollar bill off of the mirror. "Yeah whatever, Well, how about a beer, are you drinking tonight? Matt questioned the young girl. Katie replied. "Sure, Go get me one, I will be done in here in a minute." Jon and Matt walk into the kitchen area passing Kristine. The area is not as well lit up as the living room. There are empty pizza boxes on the counter. Kristine shouts. "Get me another one too!" Matt pulls out four beer bottles from his refrigerator. Sets them out on the counter, pulls out a can opener, and pops the lids off of each of them. Jon tells Matthew "Matt, It's a shame your girlfriend doesn't do Ecstacy. Don't you know what girls get like when they are rolling? They get wild!" Matt thinks outloud. "Oh yeah, well what would be the harm in slipping her one in her drink? Jonny smiles. "Got for it!" Matt gets his last pill out of his pocket, breaks it open. Then he pours the powder in Katie's beer. He then shakes the bottle very well. Matt hands Katie the beer with the pill in it as she is sitting on the sofa. Jon hands Kristine hers. They all our get drunk. The Cd player blasts music late into the night. Even more beer bottles are scattered all across the table and the living room. Kristine, Jon, and Matt are sitting on the sofa drinking a beer; Katie gets up, startled. "Ugh, I feel awful, Everything is spiining around me." Kate said. "What's wrong Katie?" Kristine asked. "I feel really hot and nauseous, Oh my~ My heart is beating so fast. It feels like my heart is beating out of my chest. I want to go home!" She said while dizzy.
"You'll be ok, you just need to rest, Stay here for a nap." Jon suggested. Kristine walks Katie into the bedroom slowly, She collapses on the bed. "What's happening to me? How can I get to sleep feeling like this??" She worried. "You'll feel fine tommorrow morning, Let's try counting some shhep ok? Ok Katie, Get ready! I am sending a sheep over the fence right now!" her friend said enthusiastically. Katie responded. "Bounce over the fence little sheep don't get hurt! Katie passed out on the bed with a look of terror on her face. "Jonathan Adams, 23, For the charge of Involuntary manslaughter in the death of Katie Ford, on September 5th, 2002 the county finds you guilty. The charge is a first-degree felony and carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison."
